Faculty and students in the machine learning and artificial intelligence group work on developing agents and algorithms that learn from experience, make intelligent decisions based on observations, reason about the world and other agents, and automatically extract knowledge and patterns from data. We span the range of research from theory to real-world application, and are especially proud of our reputation for interdisciplinary collaborations. We have particularly strong relationships with researchers in the biomedical and social sciences at Washington University and beyond.
